Al-A'laa

1.The connection of glorification is with personality. But here mention is of name as that the recognition of man is not with being but it is with the name and he recognises the being as the name.

2.Certain intellectuals have stated that to make verdure dry like blackness is also a favour of Allah, because where verdure becomes dry and like blackness, there in the depths of the earth deposits of oil are found. And Allah Knows best.

3.Certain lazy people make this a justification to leave preaching, that today there is no possibility of any benefit therefore preaching is not necessary. However this is emphasised by the Lord that if there is even a little chance of benefit you go on preaching and admonishing. Otherwise confidence can come only after getting benefit or advantage. And at that time, the act of preaching will be over. And there will be remain no necessity of it.

4.Apparently this looks strange and astonishing, that there is neither life nor death, but it means that there will not be pleasure of life and comfort of death so that one gets deliverance from all the troubles. But that will be the condition just between the two (life and death). And the series of troubles and misfortune will be a permanent feature.

5.The secret of man’s destruction is hidden in these two things. To give importance to the life of this world over the next world. To remain ignorant or careless of the excellence of the next world and that is why Allah has described this fact in all the revealed books, that success is not at all possible without purification of self. Reference of Sahifa-e-Ibrahim and Moosa (a.s.) may have been given because a prominent collection of details are available in the life of these two prophets by way of action. Ibrahim (a.s.) rejected the life of world for the next world and presented his child for sacrifice. And Moosa (a.s.) left his home and confronted Firon and the calamities he faced.
