Commentary on this passage
Verse 30
1.The smoke of Hell will engulf the criminals from three sides. From the front, from the right side and from the left. But this will also be not able to save them from the punishment of Hell, rather it will be a cause for increase in heat and harshness.
Verse 39
2.Just as the infidels were taunting Islamic teachings and making fun of them in the same way on the Day of Judgement they will be told : Now use some worldly trick and save yourself from the punishment of Hell. And they will not be able to do anything, then they will feel exactly about their misfortune.
Verse 48
3.Some commentators have said that when the wife of Abu Sufyan accepted Islam, the Prophet (s.a.) asked how she found Islam? She said it was excellent but there were three defects in it: Rukoo and Sajdah, veil, and a black slave going on the roof of Ka’ba and reciting Azan. Prophet (s.a.) said: As far as Rukoo and Sajdah are concerned, without them Prayer is not valid so it is necessary. As for veil and chadar, it is the best covering. That is why it is necessary. And as for Bilal-e-Habashi being a person reciting Azan is concerned, he is the best slave. Therefore when he is present, no one else can recite Azan. It means that Islam demands that Allah and His Prophet’s command should be accepted and they should not be asked or forced to accept their thinking. It is astonishing that people try to force on others to accept their thoughts in Islam also and they do not want to follow what Allah and His Prophet have said. It is obvious that, this is egotism and not Islam.
