Verses 1–25

وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًۭا﴿١﴾

77:1By the [angelic] emissaries sent successively,¹

فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًۭا﴿٢﴾

77:2by those who sweep along like gale,²

وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًۭا﴿٣﴾

77:3by those who publish [the Divine messages] far and wide,³

فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًۭا﴿٤﴾

77:4by those who separate [the truth from falsehood] distinctly,

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا﴿٥﴾

77:5by those who inspire [God’s] remembrance,

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا﴿٦﴾

77:6as exemption or warning:⁴⁵

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ﴿٧﴾

77:7what you are promised will surely befall.

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ﴿٨﴾

77:8When the stars are blotted out⁶

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ﴿٩﴾

77:9and the sky is cleft,⁷

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ﴿١٠﴾

77:10when the mountains are scattered [like dust]⁸

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ﴿١١﴾

77:11and time is set for the apostles [to bear witness]⁹

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ﴿١٢﴾

77:12—for what day has [all] that been set [to occur]?

لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ﴿١٣﴾

77:13For the Day of Judgement!

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ﴿١٤﴾

77:14And what will show you what is the Day of Judgement!?

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ﴿١٥﴾

77:15Woe to the deniers on that day!¹⁰¹⁴

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ﴿١٦﴾

77:16Did We not destroy the former generations,

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ﴿١٧﴾

77:17[and] then made the latter ones follow them?

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ﴿١٨﴾

77:18That is how We deal with the guilty.

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ﴿١٩﴾

77:19Woe to the deniers on that day!

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍۢ مَّهِينٍۢ﴿٢٠﴾

77:20Have We not created you from a base fluid,¹¹

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍۢ مَّكِينٍ﴿٢١﴾

77:21[and] then lodged it in a secure abode¹²

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ﴿٢٢﴾

77:22until a known span [of time]?¹³

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَٰدِرُونَ﴿٢٣﴾

77:23Then We determined; and how excellent determiners We are!

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ﴿٢٤﴾

77:24Woe to the deniers on that day!

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا﴿٢٥﴾

77:25Have We not made the earth a receptacle
