Commentary on this passage

Verse 1

2.In Tafseer Tha’labi, the circumstance of this revelation is that in Ghadeer-e-Khum after the announcement of Ali’s (a.s.) Wilayat (guardianship), Harith bin Noman Fehri said: Have you made this announcement on your own, or is it from Allah. The Prophet said it was from Allah. He said: O Allah if he is speaking the truth send punishment on me; and the punishment was sent that a stone fell on him and it entered his head and came out from below and this Ayat was revealed. Just think what a wretched person he was that hostility towards Ali (a.s.) made him mad to such an extent that instead of asking for punishment on Prophet or on those who accepted him as Maula he asked for punishment on his ownself and in the end he was destroyed. This is the end result of all those who are enemies of Ali (a.s.).

Saael - On the basis of some traditions it was Nazr bin Harith who was killed on the day of Badr and some traditions say it refers to Harith bin Noman Fehri. Though the chapter is Meccan the character of both of them is same. And all the people of falsehood have this type of mentality.

  2. 9

Khamseena Alf - that one day is equal to fifty thousand years or in one day the distance of fifty thousand years is covered.
