Verses 39–66

فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌۭ وَلَا جَآنٌّۭ﴿٣٩﴾

55:39On that day neither humans will be questioned about their sins nor jinn.

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٤٠﴾

55:40So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ﴿٤١﴾

55:41The guilty will be recognized by their mark; so they will be seized by their forelocks and feet.¹

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٤٢﴾

55:42So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ﴿٤٣﴾

55:43‘This is the hell which the guilty would deny!’

يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍۢ﴿٤٤﴾

55:44They shall circuit between it and boiling hot water.²

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٤٥﴾

55:45So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ﴿٤٦﴾

55:46For him who stands in awe of his Lord will be two gardens.³⁴

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٤٧﴾

55:47So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍۢ﴿٤٨﴾

55:48Both abounding in branches.⁵

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٤٩﴾

55:49So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ﴿٥٠﴾

55:50In both of them will be two flowing springs.

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٥١﴾

55:51So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍۢ زَوْجَانِ﴿٥٢﴾

55:52In both of them will be two kinds of every fruit.⁶

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٥٣﴾

55:53So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍۢ ۚ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍۢ﴿٥٤﴾

55:54[They will be] reclining on beds lined with green silk. And the fruit of the two gardens will be near at hand.⁷⁸⁹

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٥٥﴾

55:55So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

فِيهِنَّ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌۭ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّۭ﴿٥٦﴾

55:56In them are maidens of restrained glances, whom no human has touched before, nor jinn.¹⁰

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٥٧﴾

55:57So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ﴿٥٨﴾

55:58As though they were rubies and corals.

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٥٩﴾

55:59So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَٰنُ﴿٦٠﴾

55:60Is the requital of goodness anything but goodness?

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٦١﴾

55:61So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ﴿٦٢﴾

55:62Beside these two, there will be two [other] gardens.¹¹

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٦٣﴾

55:63So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ﴿٦٤﴾

55:64Dark green.¹²

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴿٦٥﴾

55:65So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny?

فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ﴿٦٦﴾

55:66In both of them will be two gushing springs.¹³
