Commentary on this passage

Verse 1

2.It is the idea of some persons that this is one indication towards the sign of Qiyamat, and no such incidence has occurred and some has said that to complete the proof, on demand from the infidels, the Prophet (s.a.) had split the moon. The narration is present in the history of Farishteh of Hindustan. And its one context is the next Ayat also that these people on seeing every sign used to shrink from it. And they use it to call it sorcery. It is evident that this thing is not applicable to the Sign of Qiyamat. And such movement can take place only in the dwelling of the world otherwise where question arises of declining and fixing it to be sorcery in the next world. There the greatest denier will see the realities and win have no courage to deny.
