Commentary on this passage

Verse 1

2.Oath is used at different places in the Holy Quran and commentators have given different explanations about it. According to some opinion, worthy oath is the announcement of the greatness of creation and some say it is the warning for those who try to prove the relation of angels because they are not appointed in our relationship. But apparently when Allah wants to clarify any matter, He uses the oath in introduction and the aim has been clarified in it. For example: angels obey Us, worship Us and you deny the creation. You have no status there and corrupt people are not allowed where angels stay permanently.

Explanations of words and phrases in these verses

  1. 3

The commentators have described various meanings of these words. In view of some these are the qualities of angels. And in the view of some these are traits of human beings. That some of them are lined up in rows in Prayers and Jihad. Some continue to refrain from evil deeds and some continue to recite the Holy Quran. But the sermon of Ali (a.s.) indicates that all these are the qualities of angels that some of them are arrayed in TOWS and they do not move from their places and some are performing the duty of defence. And some bring the divine message and recite it.
