Verses 71–83

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَآ أَنْعَٰمًۭا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ﴿٧١﴾

36:71Have they not seen that We have created for them—of what Our hands have worked—cattle, so they have become their masters?¹

وَذَلَّلْنَٰهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ﴿٧٢﴾

36:72And We made them tractable for them; so some of them make their mounts and some of them they eat.

وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ﴿٧٣﴾

36:73There are other benefits for them therein, and drinks. Will they not then give thanks?

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةًۭ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ﴿٧٤﴾

36:74They have taken gods besides Allah, [hoping] that they might be helped [by the fake deities].

لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌۭ مُّحْضَرُونَ﴿٧٥﴾

36:75[But] they cannot help them, while they [themselves] are an army mobilized for their defence.²

فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ﴿٧٦﴾

36:76So do not let their remarks grieve you. We indeed know whatever they hide and whatever they disclose.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٍۢ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ﴿٧٧﴾

36:77Does not man see that We created him from a drop of [seminal] fluid, and, behold, he is an open contender!?

وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًۭا وَنَسِىَ خَلْقَهُۥ ۖ قَالَ مَن يُحْىِ ٱلْعِظَٰمَ وَهِىَ رَمِيمٌۭ﴿٧٨﴾

36:78He draws comparisons for Us, and forgets his own creation. He says, ‘Who shall revive the bones when they have decayed?’^*

قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۢ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ﴿٧٩﴾

36:79Say, ‘He will revive them who produced them the first time, and He has knowledge of all creation.

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ ٱلْأَخْضَرِ نَارًۭا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ﴿٨٠﴾

36:80He, who made for you fire out of the green tree, and, behold, you light fire from it!

أَوَلَيْسَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ﴿٨١﴾

36:81Is not He who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yes indeed! He is the All-creator, the All-knowing.

إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيْـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ﴿٨٢﴾

36:82All His command, when He wills something, is to say to it ‘Be,’ and it is.

فَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ﴿٨٣﴾

36:83So immaculate is He in whose hand is the dominion of all things, and to whom you shall be brought back.
