Makkan93 verses
27:80You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf listen to your call when they turn their backs,1
27:81nor can you lead the blind out of their error. You can make only those hear you who believe in Our signs and have submitted.
27:82When the word [of judgement] falls upon them, We shall bring out for them an Animal from the earth who shall tell them that the people had no faith in Our signs.
27:83On that day We shall resurrect from every nation a group of those who denied Our signs, and they will be held in check.2
27:84When they come, He will say, ‘Did you deny My signs without comprehending them in knowledge? What was it that you used to do?’
27:85And the word [of judgement] shall fall upon them for their wrongdoing, and they will not speak.
27:86Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest in it, and the day to provide visibility. There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith.
27:87The day when the trumpet is blown, whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified, except such as Allah wishes, and all will come to Him in utter humility.3
27:88You see the mountains, which you suppose, to be stationary, while they drift like passing clouds—the handiwork of Allah who has made everything faultless. He is indeed well aware of what you do.

Commentary on this passage
Verse 82
1.According to different traditions this creation means the venerable position of Ali (a.s.) and that this will be used for announcement and this is not an inconceivable thing. The work of notification to release from falsehood and disgust is taken in the world from it. This secret as a matter of fact, could be unveiled that who were those people in the world who apparently looked Muslims and believers and were not really going to bring faith on the verse of the Holy Quran. Though this tradition is not widely related and the problem is also not practical that a solitary tradition could be considered as the proof. But according to external methods there is no risk in accepting the tradition as authentic because there is a belief in Muslims from which this work will be taken and nothing else is mentioned the traditions and this is also not possible that companions of the Prophet.(s.a.) and the Imams should hear this type of announcement and not ask the Masoomeen (a.s.) that which is that creation that this auspicious verse has pointed out from which this kind of work will be taken as evident from the style of the traditions that in different ways it has been from Masoomeen (a.s.) that who is that creation which has been chosen for this work? They answered he is an equitable person and we also get the sign that only a man with beard can announce disgust from falsehood. A beardless person cannot be honoured of this and their announcements are also untrustworthy.

Benefit
The 78th ayat is an indication that Judgement is not only giving legal decisions. The actual Judge is one who has the executive power and Knowledge. The best thing about the Judgement of Allah is that He is both Powerful and Knowing.
- 1
Life is a source of understanding and perception. Therefore anyone who imprisons the understanding and perception he is known IS the dead man. The same is the case of the deaf and those who can hear. That in spite of having the ears they do not heed the true word, therefore they are called deaf. Such a person does not merit to be guided. Guidance comes into play after the call has been beard and accepted. How can those who are not prepared to lend ear be guided?
- 2
It is Min of Bayan (Mimman) and it is not for part of the thing. That some people will be raised and some will he left free.
- 3
According to some traditions, the bulge shall he blown thrice. The first time the whole universe will shudder, the second time all the creatures will die and gathered.
Benefit
There is a possibility in the 83rd ayat that instead of Qiyamat it denotes Rajat. As mentioned in some tradition Rajat is a confirmed belief of Islam. Also the preceding and the succeeding ayats are discussing Rajat.
Benefit: Dabbatul Arz is a rational being. According to some traditions it denotes Amirul Momineen (a.s.) and according to others to Imam Mahdi (a.s.).
