Al-Ikhlaas

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
112:3He neither begat, nor was begotten,
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ
112:4nor has He any equal.’

Commentary on this passage
Verse 1
3.The fundamental belief of Islam is Oneness of Allah and His needlessness and on this rest details of other beliefs. And from here the difference between belief and disbelief becomes clear. All the gods made by infidelity are helpless and Islam has only one God Who is also needless. And the extent of His needlessness is that He does not even need relationships. He neither requires a father nor children. The result of being independent of these relationships is that He does not have any equal also. Neither with regard to the being nor with regard to attributes and perfections.
