Makkan3 verses
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلْعَصْرِ
إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ
103:3except those who have faith and do righteous deeds, and enjoin one another to [follow] the truth, and enjoin one another to patience.3
Tafsir
Commentary on this passage
Verse 1
1.Man is actually and additionally the owner of three things, Soul, body and relationships. The religion of Islam has clearly announced that the soul in which there is no faith is in loss, and the body whose deeds are not virtuous is in loss. And those relations the basis of loss whose foundations are not on counselling of patience and truth. And the witness of all these losses is time because in every period of time the majority of the people were losers. And the gainers were only in minority.

Benefit
Loss is in the sense that whatever one has when he enters the world goes on decreasing day by day. Just as the ice seller calls out: Have mercy on the one whose stock is melting.

Asr - General time or the time of prayer or the age of the Prophet (s.a.).

AI-Insaan - It denotes the human genus that includes believers and infidels. But it is intended only for the infidels.
