Verses 1–5

2.Here Allah swears by light and darkness, day and night, earth and heaven and human self, by this swearing He clarifies that success is for people who are pure. And failure and disgrace is for those who are evil, example of which is in past history, they were people of Samood and their Prophet, that the Prophet a pure souls and the people were so evil that they did not even allow a she-camel to drink water and they cut her hamstring. For that Allah sent the punishment and Allah does not care for the consequence nor He is afraid of anybody. The she-camel of Saleh was a victim of oppression about which Imam Husain (a.s.) pointed out and complained to his Lord: My child was no less (important and oppressed) than she-camel of Saleh. And these people are no less than those oppressors who did not give water to a she-camel. Apparently the purpose of all these oaths is that though all those creations are lifeless and have no intellect, they are not of two different types and they are all busy in the obedience of the Lord. But man in spite of being the best of creations is divided in two parts and in that people with evil self have been created, which is really a thing of great sorrow and shame.
