Commentary on this passage

Verse 1

1.After proclaiming Qiyamat to be a certainty three times this certainly was repeated, which shows its greatness and horrible situation. And after that, as proof, the account of the past generations is given, that just as We had destroyed the old generations with a shriek, and with a swift and furious wind in the same way We can destroy the whole world with one Soor of Israfil (Clarion) and this is absolutely proved, true and certain. There is no room for any doubt in this, and there is no lessening of any kind in My overwhelming Power. We give respite till a reasonable period of time and after that, whenever We wish We destroy them all. For Us, this is not a difficult task. You should be ready and alert before this time comes and ask forgiveness from Allah for sins committed by you.

Verse 12

2.Who in the world does not have ears, and does not listen to the talks. But among all the people, how many persons are there who have the w1sdom, sense and understanding so that after listening they think over it and consider it and then remember. The perfection of man IS not in listening it is in understanding and remembering it. Allah has drawn the attraction of man by the mention of past incidents making him aware of the events to occur in future. That Qiyamat is inevitable, therefore it is your duty to prepare for it by means of good deeds and seeking forgiveness so that you get salvation.
