Commentary on this passage
Verse 33
1.All merits of life are collected together in one place in this verse and it clarifies that perfection of character is neither expressed by words alone and nor from deeds; and perfection of deed is not obtained from individual observation and nor col1ectively. On the contrary the wonder of character is that all the branches of goodness and knowledge collect together and he will be called intelligent. This Ayat clarifies three words that a man announces for Islam is the perfection of this tongue and speech. Then he does virtuous deeds; this is the wonder of his physical organs and his character. In the end he invites people towards Allah which is the perfection of society. Individual deeds alone are not the source of his perfection as long as he does not keep in view social aspects and does not invite believers towards Allah. In Islam there is no scope for individual graves and deeds? Everyone is responsible to guide others and Islam announces that they would be asked if there is an ill in the society. That is the meaning of Amr bil Ma’roof and Nahy Anil Munkar. He would ask what was his share in this destruction of society? Peace is brought about from silence of people and this causes the wicked people to do evils in society.

On this point it is the responsibility of the reciter and the audience that they should prostrate, so that they are also included among the proximate ones to the Almighty, who are never tired of glorifying Allah. This is one of the four instances of Quran where Sajdah is obligatory. For this Sajdah it is sufficient to prostrate on something over which Sajdah is allowed. You are not required to recite anything in particular.
