بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
يسٓ
36:1Ya Seen!
وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
36:3you are indeed one of the apostles,
عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ
36:4on a straight path.
تَنزِيلَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
36:5[It is a scripture] sent down gradually from the All-mighty, the All-merciful
لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًۭا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ
36:6that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, so they are oblivious.
لَقَدْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
36:7The word has certainly become due against most of them, so they will not have faith.
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِىٓ أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَٰلًۭا فَهِىَ إِلَى ٱلْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ
36:8Indeed We have put iron collars around their necks, which are up to the chins, so their heads are upturned.2
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّۭا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّۭا فَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ
36:9And We have put a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, then We have blind-folded them, so they do not see.3
Tafsir
Commentary on this passage
Verse 4
1.The Holy Quran has pointed out towards the Prophets that We have given guidance of a right path and the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) has announced in his statement that he is on a right path that means the righteous path to which they are guided. This is the same route on which they guided. This is the same road on which the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) has to move and are more preferential among all Apostles, to which it is pointed out in different traditions

Benefit
Surah Yasin is the blessed Surah which is called in traditions the heart of Quran. One who recites this Surah is promised good in this life and the Hereafter, provided it is not mere recitation. One should understand its meanings and importance. We should also honour the oath that is taken from our original creation. So that he does not worship the Satan. Rather he is busy in the worship of the Lord of the worlds. The argument of the 44th ayat is that our method is that you should travel around the Earth and see how We have destroyed the deniers and there remains no sign of them.

Quran is itself full of wisdom. As far as its revelation is concerned, it is the revelation of the Powerful and Merciful Lord. The Lord Who is dominant over the infidels and Merciful for the believers.

Ghul - Iron collar. Azqaan -It is plural of Zaqn (Locust). Maqma - A person whose hands are tied to his neck by an iron collar. He cannot tum the head sideways. He can only turn it upwards.

On the Day of Qiyamat the infidels shall be imprisoned between walls of fire. Such severe punishment shall befall them that they wouldn’t be able to see anything.
Benefit
Human thoughts are of two conditions. The external and internal. And there are two methods of gaining Marefat, external or natural realization and through five senses. The infidels had so completely weakened their thinking power that neither could they move ahead nor behind. They were trapped between two walls.
