Commentary on this passage

Verse 26

1.Another policy of hypocrites of Mecca was that they respected Ibrahim (a.s.) and were also doing idol-worship. Allah made them attentive: We have ordained Ibrahim (a.s.) to demolish idols. People who believe him cannot be idol worshippers.

Verse 27

2.There is complete satisfaction from Allah that voice of Khalil (a.s.) will not cry out in the wilderness and while Ibrahim (a.s.) will call out, Allah will make arrangement to extend his voice and people will gather on his call and we witness this at the time of the Pilgrimage.

Verse 28

3.The link of strengthening of Hajj starts from here that while slaughtering animals in Allah’s name is necessary and sacrificed animals should be of particular species. Hens and pigeons cannot be sacrificed and these animals should be sacrificed within particular days. A person who sacrifices animals should eat himself and should give to the poor and needy and after this sacrifice, he can clean the impurities from his body. Impurity means hair and nails can be cut. After that if he has taken any vow of offering, he should complete it. Only then will his work be fully completed. Here hunting is unlawful It does not mean that the flesh of that sacrificed animal is unlawful. Flesh of that animal is lawful in all circumstances and its use is permissible

  1. Benefit

After the mention of both the groups, believers and unbelievers their consequences are foretold and their contradiction is staled. There are four types of punishments for disbelievers - the dress of Hell, water of Hameem, maces of fire, no escape forever. As for the believers, there are five types of bounties for them: Gardens, ornaments, Silken clothes, a good word and the praised path.

One of the signs of greatness of the Holy Ka’ba is that all the benefits of the religion and the world are seen in it. This implies that to deprive the Muslim Ummah from the Social, economical and political benefits of the Ka’ba is no respect to it, it is an insult it.

  5. Benefit

Concerning the 29th ayat the removal of dirt is interpreted as the meeting with Imam (a.s.). “After the Hajj meet the Imam”. Probably the secret is that like outward cleansing the inner dirt could be cleansed by meeting the Imam (a.s.).
