50:19The throes of death bring the truth: ‘This is what you used to shun!’

50:22[he will be told] ‘You were certainly oblivious of this. We have removed your veil from you, and so today your eyesight is acute.’

50:24[The two angels accompany him will be told,] ‘Cast every obdurate ingrate into hell,

50:26who had set up another god along with Allah and cast him into the severe punishment.’

50:28He will say, ‘Do not wrangle in My presence, for I had already warned you in advance.
50:29The word [of judgement] is unalterable with Me, and I am not tyrannical to My servants.’4

50:31And paradise will be brought near for the Godwary, it will not be distant [any more]:
50:32‘This is what you were promised. [It is] for every penitent and dutiful [servant]

50:34Enter it in peace! This is the day of immortality.’

Commentary on this passage
Verse 24
1.The ayat explains that those who are certain to be sent to Hell and regarding whom the angels will be ordered to throw them into Hell have the following characteristics: (i) They would not be thankful for divine bounties. (ii) They are inimical to the truth. (iii) They restrained people from good deeds. (iv) They usurped the rights of others. (v) They created doubts. That is, they themselves were deviated and they were the ones who deviated others. Such people would never be forgiven though forgiveness is in the essence of Allah.
Verse 32
2.These Verses show that the people who would be destined to Paradise will also have some special characteristics : (i) They would always seek recourse to Allah. (ii) They protect themselves. (iii) They would fear Allah without seeing Him. (iv) They shall be attentive towards Allah.

Apparently, Raqeeb, Ateed, Saeq, Shaheed all these are angels and their sitting denotes their togetherness just as Qareen is an angel and not anyone else.
- 1
The jugular vein is the closest organ of man and through this the life continues Allah has said that He was closer than that too. That He is aware of every breath and nothing is hidden from Him.
- 2
There are two angels that are appointed on every man and they continue to record his deeds and keep calculating each word of his. Neither a deed can escape them not a saying can be overlooked. Those who lie or make allegations etc. are not aware of these angels otherwise they would not behave in the way they do.
- 3
This Qareen applies to the angels who has prepared the scroll of deeds and in the 27th ayat, Qareen implies the satan who has instigated man to sin and disobedience.
- 4
Though the changing of punishment is Afw and it is nothing defective, but regarding some people it is confirmed that their punishment will also not be dispelled and it is most probably for such people. Or that Afw is also a proper system and change is not possible in it.
