Commentary on this passage

Verse 12

1.Amirul Momineen (a.s.) has mentioned a beautiful sentence in Nahjul Balagah that the Almighty has not created me that the best foods may attract me just as the tethered animal knows only chewing the cud and the free animal chews the rubbish in the wilderness that though it fills its belly with the cud yet it is completely ignorant and free of the aim- May the merciful Lord give tawfeeq to every Muslim to gain a lesson from this saying.

Verse 15

2.These statements prove that Paradise does not consist of only spiritual pleasures and comforts. Delicious eatables and other means of comfort are also available there. The standard for this is that one would get whatever he wishes. Thus when different people have different desires it is necessary that each must get a different bounty.

Verse 16

3.The teasers of every age behave in this fashion with the people of truth. When they leave their assemblies they make fun as to what they were saying. We have not understood anything. We don’t know what you people have understood that you are following them so ardently.

Verse 18

4.There are very detailed traditions with regard to the signs of Qiyamat. The most basic signs are the destruction of the Prayers and the following of carnal desires. All other corruptions are the branches of these two. Because in a society where there is no obedience of Allah and there is following of the carnal desires every kind of evil would be present therein.
