Commentary on this passage
Verse 67
1.This enmity does not mean to create a controversy. It means no one will help you and everybody will try to escape from each other that no one asks for sympathy. This is clear that if one helps oneself and looks to one’s own interest. Then who will help in hereafter? It is only the God-fearing who pay respect to humanity and faith and these people will bear in mind their associates in the hereafter. If they get a chance they will intercede and recommend. As mentioned in traditions we cannot expect this from the people of the world.
Verse 70
2.If a wife is chaste like her husband both of them will stay together in the garden so that the pleasure of world and attachment of each other continues. Otherwise family and other relations are all useless. When the wife of Nuh (a.s.) cannot enter the garden along with Nuh (a.s.) then what to say about the wives of other holy personalities.
Verse 72
3.This is a clear sign that inheritance of the heaven is the share of equitable persons. Unjust and evil people have no share in it. Inheritance will be high and great depending upon ones deeds. Thus if the deeds are best in the world, they would be leader of Paradise, as the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) has stated about Hasnain and Ali (a.s.).

Explanations of words and phrases in these verses
Benefit
The 67th ayat indicates that the friendship based on something other than piety will have such consequences that every person will announce his enmity towards his friend. But that which is based on piety will remain forever and will be higher than sorrow and fear. Because its foundation is on both belief and deeds.
Benefit
The 71st ayat is so comprehensive that its detail is not possible. The selfish desires include: Lameza, Zaiqa, Shameqa and Samma and the pleasure of eye mentions Basera which is the highest pleasure.
- 1
Laa Yafattar - That is La Yukhaffif. There is no sort of respite or concession. It is a continuous chastisement in which they shall be involved.
- 2
Malik - It is the caretaker of Hell, just as the caretaker of Paradise is Rizwan and the names of both of them are apt.
