Commentary on this passage
Verse 50
1.In these verse the ronowing women are made lawful to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and there is no restriction of the number. (1) Women whose dowers are paid or their responsibility is taken and actual payment is not a condition. (2) Women who have come as prisoners in booty as a share of the Prophet (s.a.) even if he has not taken part in the battle but this lady is lawful for him. (3) The daughters of his paternal aunts and daughters of his maternal aunts who came with him in migration, they have more right to marriage than other women. They have the distinction of family and also that of migration.
Be it known that Amina had no brothers or sisters. Therefore the daughters of the maternal aunt denoted the Banu Zohra and they used to call themselves the cousins of the Prophet. (4) If a woman gives herself to the Prophet without a dower, she is lawful only for the Prophet and for the people marriage is not valid without Mehr. They have to pay the dower in any case even though it might not be mentioned at the time of Nikah.

Explanations of words and phrases in these verses
Benefit
The day of meeting Allah is the one when all the material veils shall be lifted and man shall be fully attentive to the Almighty. This reward of the Hereafter is only for those who have remembered Allah much in this world. Because there is nothing higher than this worship act. It is also mentioned in the traditions that there is a limit to every worship but there is no limit to the remembrance of Allah, provided it is with sincerity and not only an utterance.
- 1
It should be clear that salawat indicates the sending of blessing by Allah and with regard to the people it is a request for mercy and this is valid for all the believers provided they are believers. And on this basis it is proved by the rule of preference that Muhammad and the Progeny of Muhammad (a.s.) has a belief and faith regarding which there is no doubt whatsoever.
- 2
Muta - It means enjoyment. In terminology it denotes the gift that a person gives to the wife whom he is divorcing. It is specially in the cases when the divorcee wife has no other right. But where it becomes necessary to pay to full or half of the Dower, this gift is not required.
Benefit
It is said that the booty from the Mulke-Yamin was Maria the Copt and in the Anfal were Safiyyah and Juwairiya like Binte Umme was Zainab binte Khajash and those who gave themselves as a gift without Dower were like Maimoona binte Harith, Zainab binte Khuzaima, Umme Shareek binte Jabir and Khawla bint Hakim whom Ayesha had also ridiculed. Allah knows best!
