Commentary on this passage
Verse 31
1.The blessed Verse of the Holy Quran has clearly mentioned that claim of lave without practice has no value and effect of practice of being a beloved of Allah is manifest in the form of forgiveness. Without being a follower of the Prophet (s.a.) the image of forgiveness cannot be realised. On the contrary, Quran has interpreted him as an infidel and it is the worst stage of wretchedness.
Verse 33
2.Allah chose the descendants of Adam and Nuh (a.s.). After the storm, Allah made the nation prosperous by their three descendants Ham, Sam and Yaafith. ‘Alameen’ denotes people of that time and not the people of every era.
Verse 35
3.Qoqaaz Bin Qabeel of Bani Israel had two daughters, Hanna and Eesha. Hanna married Imran and Maryam (s.a.) was born of them. Eesha married Zakaria (a.s.) and Vahya (a.s.) was born. In this way Maryam and Yahya (a.s.) and not Isa and Yahya (a.s.) were maternal cousins. At the time of Imran’s (a.s.) death, Hanna (a.s.) was pregnant. She vowed, she would devote her child for the service of the House of Allah. When Maryam (a.s.) was born the question was raised for the responsibility of the child. People cast their pens (to decide), Zakaria’s (a.s.) pen floated on the water. And in this way, Allah made arrangement of the mamtenance of Maryam (a.s.). Zakaria (a.s.) was surprised but Allah said: Whoever serves My House and Religion, We make all arrangements for their livelihood etc. This evidence is found in the tradition of Tafseer Ruhul Bayan. Once Ali (a.s.) took a loan of a dinar and gave in charity to a destitute witnessing his poverty, so Allah sent heavenly food. Ali (a.s.) asked Fatimah (a.s.) and she said: This is from Allah. Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) thanked Allah for this. As such, Ali’s (a.s.) situation is like Zakaria (a.s.) and Fatimah’s (a.s.) condition is like Maryam (a.s.). In Sahih Muslim, Fatimah (a.s.) is called Sayyedatul Nisaeel Aalemeen and in Sahih Bukhari she is called Saiyada Nisa-ul Ahle Jannat. In Zakhaerul Oqba, the Prophet (s.a.) is quoted to have said: Maryam (a.s.) was the leader of women of that time and Fatimah (a.s.) is the leader of women of all era.

Benefit
It should be clear that Amadan Mahdood is a particular time period and Abadan is eternity. That is Amadan is not a distance of place it is the distance of age. In language it is used only for time. Apart from this, this blessed ayat is the proof of the personification of deeds. In the 34th ayat Imran is the respected father of Maryam (s.a.) as he is alone referred to Imran again and again. The name of the father of the Moosa (a.s.) is not mentioned in the Holy Quran.
